We live in Spring Tx…our mastiff Marti had been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, possibly a rolled stomach and breathing problems. Our Spring vet referred us to NVC for surgery. I was told we would have to leave her overnight which really worried us. Marti was scared of people and places and was my shadow. Making a long story short Marti came thru surgery on Thursday just fine but her breathing problems started again the next day….and got progressively worse. During all this time we received texts and phone calls letting us know what was going on. Later on that Friday Dr Hanson called to let us know she was not going to make it. As soon as my husband got out of dialysis we sped to Nederland. We got there in time to spend time with Marti and tell her bye. I can not possibly tell Dr Hanson and his staff what their care of Marti meant to us. Marti was NEVER LEFT ALONE. One or more people were with her at all times. She overcame her shyness and fear of others because these people are so wonderful at what they do….take care of our “family” when we need them to. They cried with me ,hugged me and completely understood what Marti meant to us. I can never say THANK YOU enough to this wonderful group of people.
